Job Overview:

The Store Systems Manager will oversee a group of IT technicians that are responsible for managing store systems and store telecom infrastructure.  This individual sets team expectations on deliverable, communicates with stores, and identifies and proactively solves any problems. The Manager is responsible for continuous improvement of store systems support processes and partners with vendors on requests from the business to ensure that they are delivered on time and budget. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Serves as technical escalation point for the team, as well as providing leadership, mentoring, and coaching to IT technical support
  • Sustains a consistent store technology architecture that enables consistency as well as monitoring awareness of technologies in the retail space to ensure the highest quality up-time and minimizes impact to customers and store teams 
  • Collaborates with business owners on needs related to Store Systems and translates them into actionable requirements. 
  • Manages engineers and ensures career growth and development opportunities are provided; serves as an expert in the Information Systems field and provides leadership and direction to team on industry best practices. 
  • Discovers new opportunities to optimize store system support through improved processes and
  • Manage organizational transformation projects throughout the entire systems development lifecycle, ensuring that requirements are defined accurately, systems are designed/coded or purchased that meet the defined requirements and that execute efficiently.
  • Provide technical training to programmers and programmer analysts on the use of new technologies
  • Drive test planning and execution throughout all phases of testing (i.e. unit, end-to-end, integration, performance, operational readiness, user acceptance.) for all assigned projects.

  • ​ Demonstrated track record managing technical application projects.
  • Experience in risk identification and management
  • A solid understanding of industry best practices in retail; specific demonstrated experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; outstanding listening skills
  • Able to articulate issues, build consensus around recommendations, and define next steps

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology preferred
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • 7+ years of retail systems software application experience
