Job Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Global Accounts Payable, the Senior Manager, Global Accounts Payable will lead all operational aspects of Accounts Payable (AP) for the Party City Retail, Amscan US, Amscan CA, and Kookaburra business units. This role and the Director, Global AP will work together to consolidate and modernize the AP workstream as it relates to processing AP across the enterprise. This will include continuous evaluation and improvement of AP processing for all PCHI entities with the ultimate goal of a modernized, consolidated shared AP service executed in conjunction with a third-party business process outsource provider. Day to day responsibilities include regularly partnering with key team members to ensure timeliness, accuracy of accounts payable, close data and reporting (including cash reporting) as well as the maintenance and improvement of current processes and internal controls related to these areas. Lastly, the Senior Manager, Global AP will assist the Director, Global AP with maintaining an agile and resilient workstream and team dynamic to achieve the strategic goals of the Finance function and the broader PCHI organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

In addition to the overview above, the Senior Manager role is responsible for managing and delivering end to end Procure to Pay continuous improvement projects and driving key AP processes by working across various internal and external teams and functions. The Senior Manager ensures the team's activities, reports, and results are in line with goals or expectations and in compliance with regulations, accounting principles and company policies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and maintains operational guidelines, procedures and processes for the workstream
  • Responsible for reviewing departmental results, develop team members, and create performance improvement plans, as necessary. Identifies improvement opportunities for systems, workflow and procedures. Drives and implements changes with cross functional teams
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external customers, along with peer groups/departments to drive positive interactions and outcomes of inquiries or disputes
  • Drives department goal completion and monitors key metrics, analysis and reporting
  • Establishes and maintains relationships and networks with all departments and appropriate external contacts
  • Ensures appropriate internal control environment and SOX compliance are maintained along with compliance to all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manages workstream activities to ensure systems and controls are in place as outlined in policy and procedure manuals. Meets established daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
  • Resolves escalated internal and external customer issues
  • Oversees preparation and/or reviews materials and products in support of internal and external audits
  • Mentors, coaches, and develops employees through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of policies and rules, and constructive feedback; builds morale and motivation
  • Assist the Director, Global Accounts Payable and Senior Director, Global Controller as required and directed

Requisitos del puesto

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related degree
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of accounts payable within a large company/enterprise, preferably high volume materials and/or merchandise/inventory payables
  • At least 5 years' experience in an accounts payable leadership role
  • ERP system experience strongly desired, Oracle a notable plus – knowledge and understanding of accounts payable system process jobs and data table structures preferred
  • Knowledge/experience in legal and tax aspects of accounts payables processes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and eye for process improvement
  • Strong negotiation skills balanced with strong customer service skills
  • Strong judgement and decision making capability
