Job Overview

The Next Gen Inventory Systems Planner is responsible for the accurate replenishment of inventory to the Next Gen Stores and are responsible for meeting/exceeding the following metrics: Instock, Forecast Accuracy, Sales, Margin, Inventory turn, DOH/WOS targets all while providing excellent support service to our stores. This individual helps to manage and execute systems and processes related to continuous optimization to pursue process improvements and ensures proper documentation of procedures. The Planner will be tasked with providing functional expertise of the inventory planning system and process, ensuring that the system is functional in accordance with our business policies, supporting the Inventory Planning team, as well as partnering with software providers to communicate business requirements and aid in determining systems options and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform system maintenance and maintain master data within planning areas and processes, as needed.
  • Support Inventory Planning team with system configurations and updates
  • Participate in discussions with Inventory and Merchandising partners to adapt the planning system in order to effectively accommodate business unit needs.
  • Review and analyzes planning data to prepare reports for management review.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses as needed.
  • Meet regularly with Relex partners to discuss business requirements, system needs, and system health.
  • Effectively maintain and manage the appropriate in-stock positions and inventory across both stores and SKUs.
  • Responsible for creating accurate SKU forecasts, PO tracking, order creation, managing inventory system parameters for each category to execute the replenishment strategy.
  • Help inventory teams achieve and maintain target in stock levels, vendor fill rates and planned inventory turns.
  • Execute the category strategies in partnership with wholesale customers, stores, and field leadership.
  • Utilize Inventory system to support sales plans, provide accurate lost sales, order forecasts and allocations
  • Support and monitor new item introductions throughout life cycle including end of life management to ensure sell through of inventory.
  • Monitor sales and receipt forecasts for accurate replenishment as well as quickly adjust to trends or business changes to drive improved sales and inventory productivity.

Deliverables

  • 50%- Manage stock and replenishment for both seasonal and replenishment programs: review daily orders, PO placement & tracking, determine in-stock drivers, align with business on key actions to take to support in stock and inventory turnover
  • 20%- Manage seasonal inventory flow and transitions/resets with oversight
  • 10%- Partner with field on execution and issue resolution
  • 10%- Identify process challenges and opportunities to review with leadership
  • 10%- Vendor collaboration, planning & communication

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in planning, allocation, or replenishment in a retail environment
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Education in Supply Chain Management considered an asset)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret meaningful trends from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Expert proficiency with Excel required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Able to maintain and build effective relationships with cross-functional team.
  • Understanding of Data Analytics and Inventory Management Systems required
  • Strong grasp of Merchandising & Inventory financials along with Retail Math
  • Exceptional business acumen: should be able to understand the big picture and how each tasks align to it
  • Knowledge of Merchandising Strategy, Merchandising Execution (Field), and Store Operations considered an asset
