Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing HR Support and customer service to the plant associates. The incumbent will be an integral member of the ACIM Leadership Team, functioning as the strategic partner to the plant manager and liaison with Corporate HR (PCHI). The HRG will manage the day-to-day functions including recruiting, employee relations, new hire and separation activities processing, performance reviews, benefits administration, and HR compliance. This position will promote a culture that emphasizes quality, continuous reimagination and high performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs leveraging enterprise HR initiatives to support the employee journey and experience.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to line supervisors to better lead their teams and hold members accountable for achieving or exceeding expectations.
  • Proactively partner with Plant Manager to establish positive work environment practices with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Manage HR operations (time & attendance, payroll, benefits) in partnership with PCHI HR Operations function.
  • Collaborate with the human resources team to develop and execute effective and streamlined recruitment strategies
  • Responsible for new hire paperwork, ordering background checks, E-verify and all onboarding activities.
  • Will participate in benefits annual meetings/planning/open enrollments. Will act as the main point of contact for employee benefit related questions and issues.
  • Partner with plant leadership (supervisors, managers, other leaders) to identify and address and document performance issues and other corrective actions as needed.
  • Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Effectively communicate and manage safety protocols and practices to improve current adherence and drive a 'safety first' mentality within the facility. Proactively identify and mitigate existing hazards.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation cases in partnership with Corporate WC team
  • Monitor employee morale, engagement, and company culture; make recommendation for improvement as needed.
  • Conduct exit interviews and use data to identify trends and recommendations to reduce turnover rates.
  • Will maintain daily absenteeism reporting and issue appropriate corrective action, as necessary.
  • Will oversee compliance training and communicate to supervisors when recertification is due
  • Will assist in compliance audits for our customers.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, or a combination of education, work experiences and training. PHR or SHRM- CP preferred.
  • 2-5+ years' experience in HR; preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience in a facility 'turn around' situation strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations, employee relations concerns, and accident reporting and follow-through.
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information, issues, and events.
  • Must possess strong planning, execution, and multitasking skills.
  • Must demonstrate organizational ability, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • EHS, OSHA and Workers' Compensation experience or exposure preferred
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems. ADP preferred.
  • Recruiting management software experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)

FLSA Working Conditions:

  • This role supports multiple shifts, and may be required to be in the office early, late, or on weekends to address needs of multiple shifts
  • Must be able to walk through a production/manufacturing environment where you are exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and noise.
