The Director Inventory Management is a key business partner to Merchandising, Sales, Merchandise Planning and vendors to drive sales while maximizing inventory return on investment. This position is responsible for driving in stock by partnering with vendors to ensure adequate supply in both DC & Store locations while optimizing the assortment and catalog offerings. The role is responsible for the development and execution of processes and systems that are used to effectively manage inventory performance. This position will lead a team that will be accountable for the successful execution of planning and forecasting of inventory for the wholesale partners, retail stores and web and directly report to the Vice President of Inventory Management.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and communicate comprehensive department inventory strategies and processes in alignment with multiple channels, department plans, key inventory targets, and financial goals.
- Create and execute strategies for the implementation of replenishment and inventory achieve key financial outcomes while proactively identifying improvements.
- Oversee the partnership with merchandise planning and wholesale strategies to meet financial goals and proactively change directions when needed.
- Leverage reports and analytics to make recommendations in line with business strategy and goals.
- Review buying multiples, minimums, replenished forecasts, lead-times and vendor performance to optimize inventory performance.
- Partner and collaborate with management, manufacturing and suppliers to proactively the collaborative forecasting process to drive inventory productivity, product availability and cost productivity.
- Coach, hire and retain a team of Managers, Planners and Specialists to perform successfully.
